We have just seen the United States gymnastic team compete for the team gold. We watched them In a stadium called the North Greenwich Staduim. The girls compeated in four different events. The beam, floor, vault, and the uneven bars. It was so much fun to watch 8 different country's compete. The United States came out on top winning the gold followed by Russia with the silver and Romania with the bronze. The USA won by six points and we got to listen to anthem being played over the speakers. Every part of the Staduim made the win even more spectacular to watch. On Friday we will watch track and field so stay toned!!!

  2. Hello Sarah, Alice, and Janie!

We are writing to you from Especially For Children in Edina (Edinborough). We are called the Puppy Room and most of us are 3 years old. We liked hearing about all of your fun adventures at the Olympics. We want to know if you thought the man who played the piano at the opening ceremonies was funny, because a lot of us thought he was. Our teacher, Ms. Laura, said his name is Mr. Bean.

We have watched the swimmers, the gymnastics, and even a few of us have watched cycling, or as we said "the men in shorts on the bikes". We look foward to hearing from you again and hope you continue to have a fun time at the Olympics!

P.S. It seems like it would be fun to ride a train under the water. A lot of us hope we could do this sometime too!

    1. Hi Puppy Room,
Mr. bean was super funny in person. We loved watching him and he made the opening ceremony's even better. The under water train was also really cool. We are so happy that you guys like the blog and keep reading.

  3. Hi Janie and Sarah Alice,
I've written you a few more times but can't seem to get it to work.
Here I go again! I love reading your posts. You guys are so incredibly lucky to be there! Have you done any sightseeing or are
you at the Olympics most of each day? Do you have favorite athletes? Which day do you come home?
    Love,
    Aunt Priscilla

  4. Greetings from Especially For Children in Edina. We love reading your blog and wish we could be there just like you! Our children love hearing all the happenings in London. Here are some responses from our two pre-kindergarten classrooms.

    -The Fives Classroom-
"I watched the gymnastics on tv... the flip high!"
"I saw the swimmings go way under the water... and I saw their backstroke and frontstroke"
"I watched diving and swimming, the US won the bronze"
"My mom told my dad all about the puppets, and about Queen Elizabeth too"
"My favorite event so far is the 'spin flip' diving"
Some events we wish we could play are beach volleyball, gymnastics because it's cool, and diving.

    -The Explorers Classroom-
Thank you for writing to us, we love you! Why does the stadium fit 85,000 people? That seems to be a TON of people. What has been your favorite part? You must be far away from us in Minnesota. London looks like it's way far away from Minnesota. What other activities have you done?

  8. Just testing the comments from our end again....it was really fun reading the reactions from Especially for Children teachers and kids. And your answers!

It's easy to get caught up in the stories of so many of these athletes--Gabby, Michael, Missy, Katie and several more. We just watched a track heat where the guy with prostheses rather than legs and feet came in second.

Besides a little frustration with the comments on your site, we're having some annoyance with our TV channels cutting out. We can switch between Milwaukee and Green Bay NBC channels, but sometimes both go out at once --just when we want to watch something important. Frustrating!
